How much does it cost to learn?

Call for information and class availability.  Classes are very small (6 students max) and are suited best for students interested in a small group setting.


What system of martial arts do you teach?

Parker American Kenpo, which is a modern term describing one of the more innovative systems of the Martial Arts.  Kenpo originally started in Hawaii, is heavily practiced in the Americas and has now spread worldwide.  KEN means fist and PO meas law.  Because of Ed Parker's numerous contributions of innovative concepts and principles, many Kenpo Practitioners are referring to modern day Kenpo as Parker Kenpo


Who is Ed Parker?

Senior Grand Master Ed Parker, a 10th Degree Kenpo Black Belt,  was not only a master instructor but an author, publisher, director, promoter and President of the International Kenpo Karate Association.  He is referred to as the "Father of American Karate".  He opened the first commercial karate school in the US in Provo, Utah back in 1954.  Later, establishing his second school in Pasadena, Ca in 1956.  He was influential in the lives of other popular martial artists such as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Danny Inosanto and many others.


What is Kenpo?

While Kenpo traces it's roots to Chinese Martial Arts, Mr. Parker's system of Kenpo is 90% his creation.  Consequently, it is the most comprehensive martial arts system in the world today.  It is practical, realistic and can be readily applied in today's environment.  Mr. Parker's Kenpo encompasses logical principles and concepts along with scientific disciplines not yet employed by other martial art systems.  Mr. Parker had over 5 decades of experience and has contributed much to the martial arts community.  He was constantly sought after for his views as one of the foremost authorities on martial arts in the world.


Who Studies Kenpo?

People from all walks of life study Kenpo.  Pre-school children, boys and girls, men and women; people who want to exercise and learn self-defense at the same time.  People who are looking for different levels of athletic competition, higher levels of self-confidence and improved coordination.  Most importantly, people who study Kenpo want to be able to defend themselves or their loved ones with the most practical and effective martial arts system available today.


Does Kenpo Take Years to Learn?

From the very first introductory lesson, you'll learn self defense moves that you can instantly put to use.  You'll learn how basic hand or foot movements can help save your life.  Also, you can practice these moves anywhere.....in your home or at work.  No special attire or equipment is needed while you are practicing.  Even if you only complete a beginner's course, you will feel reassured knowing you have the ability to defend yourself.


Is it Family Oriented?

Every member of your family can benefit from learning Kenpo.  It is an activity ideally suited for family participation.  Whether you are a husband or wife, parents and children, brother and sister or friends, we encourage family and friends to participate in Kenpo together as an added convenience and support.


Is Age a Factor?

Unlike extremely strenuous sports, like wrestling or grappling, people of all ages can learn and enjoy Kenpo.  Since we tailor our Kenpo lessons to fit your own physical capability, you can develop self defense skills at your own pace.  However, you must be at least 13 years of age. 


Does Kenpo Benefit Teenagers?

For teens to succeed in school, they should be motivated, disciplined and self confident.  In learning Kenpo, we encourage our students to develop self discipline by learning their belt requirements.  This in turn carries over into their school studies and improves their grades.  Self confidence learned through Kenpo teaches our students how to interact well with fellow classmates and teachers.  Because of our effective belt ranking system, students also learn to develop goal setting.  As our students achieve higher belt ranks through goal setting, it becomes easier for them to perpetually set lifelong goals.


Are There Lasting Results?

Kenpo is a lifelong benefit.  The skills you learn today will last a lifetime.  Have you ever invested in an expensive health product, training equipment or physical activity only to become tired or bored with the activity and have nothing to show for your financial as well as physical investment?  Even if you complete just a beginners course in Kenpo, you will always have those acquired skills as a means of self defense or exercise.  Kenpo can be a valuable investment that will continue to last for years to come, whether you desire to make it a life long pursuit or not.
